Nature in its urban setting, offered to the eye in large compositions. Pieces of nature that we meet without sticking to, which are part of our everyday life but which we often ignore in favour of dreams of a pure and distant nature. Dark and sensual images, tactile, odoriferous. . . The work flirts with the abstraction without making it a formal frame. Nature is dressed by photographic light, it is accessible and powerful at the same time. “My weeds”, as J-M Renaudin likes to say, are the force-made fragility – like the frail reed of the fable that never breaks, even in the face of the voracity of the city.
